The intention of this internship is to design HW and SW to validate the Automated Test Systems used in our production facilities in Belgium, Bulgaria and US.
An Automated Test System is a collection of devices needed to test a PBA (Printed Board Assembly).
These are power supplies, audio analyser, digital IO interface cards, analog interface cards, relay boards, CAN interface board, etc.
All the devices used in the Automated Test System should be validated – checked if they still meet their requirements and specifications - on fixed intervals. This validation process should be automated to improve efficiency and to eliminate errors.
In order to do this, a self-test fixture should be designed that mates to the mass interconnect system so as to automate the validation process.
In addition to the hardware, Python code will be needed to complete the automation process.
This code should be integrated in the test framework so that the validation process can be initiated from with the framework.
Every validation of the Automated Test System needs to be checked and registered in the MySQL database of the test framework. A dashboard should be designed that gives an overview of the executed validations and where devices can be assigned for external validation/calibration. This data can be used as a trigger to the production manager to organize an external validation/calibration.
