Televic Conference offers state of the art wired and wireless discussion systems, applications for simultaneous translation and electronic voting systems. A recent development involved the design and manufacturing of an electronic nameplate.
The Plixus Nameplate saves time, money and manual labor by replacing paper nameplates by a double-sided E Ink nameplate that is easy to manage and update. For optimal legibility and minimal eye strain, the Plixus Nameplate uses E Ink technology.
To further leverage on this product and technology we would like to investigate how the existing platform and driver can be tuned so that other e-paper sizes can be supported. This would allow the use of e-paper for other use cases like voting results, speaker list, signage, etc…
The aim of this project is to work towards a working e-paper demonstrator using a similar platform as the Plixus nameplate but equipped with another, pre-selected, e-paper panel.
The work would consist out of:
Making overview of requirements
Evaluation of work items. Assess impact on
PCB and PBA (interfacing, powering, …)
Selecting demonstrator components
Implementation of driver (C Code for embedded soft core processor in FPGA)
Demonstrator content management (starting from existing Python test framework)
