They are not optimized for minimal overhead in processing power, storage accesses and memory availability. This is however important is small network environments such as trains, where compute power, memory and storage are highly limited.
This topic will validate and test existing 'cloud' solutions for their usability on embedded devices in trains and implement such a monitoring system on a virtual train. The student will develop algorithms that react to specific events and develop an optimal deployment strategy. The student will verify his developed system on a virtual train.
