Sensors and IoT devices can collect a lot of data and parameters, however by itself they are meaningless. Therefore some rules and reasoning needs to be applied on these inputs to generate a meaningful output e.g. an alarm that indicates an elderly person may need help. These rules should be easy to configure and change so it can adapt to different environments and patient profiles.
Design challenges to solve:
Choosing tool or library: node-RED, n8n,... (some of these come with their own runtime, debugging tools, etc.)
Evaluate, compare, test and research the reliability, robustness and flexibility of existing libraries
Decide on approach: how to connect the rule engine with the Televic care platform for example to distribute alarms
