An important step during the manufacturing process of our conferencing products is functionally testing the unit. This has to be done to avoid that customers receive broken equipment: e.g.: a camera that doesn’t work, a display that doesn’t work, a speaker that doesn’t work, etc…
While testing our products after manufacturing is very important the testing time has to be reduced as much as possible. In Televic Conference we are gradually moving towards more automation during functional testing, but testing video related peripherals is still largely a manual process. This costs time and is error prone. Therefore we would like to explore the possibilities to automate camera tests, display tests, LED tests,… in short: anything which has to be tested visually.
This type of testing is already done by companies making consumer products in bulk (e.g.: smartphones (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OBXKMu5Cc0)). As we produce in far smaller amounts and have a lot of different types of products the solution coming out of this work should be as flexible and reusable as possible.
