Bombardier - Double Deck Coaches M7

"An innovative and modern design, but at the same time perfectly compatible with the existing M6 coaches."

The Televic GSP screens integrate perfectly in the modern interior.

Bombardier and Alstom will supply 445 M7 double deck cars to the Belgian National Railways (SNCB - NMBS), good for a contract of 1.3 billion euros. The new coaches will be equipped with Televic GSP solutions, including LED and TFT screens, an audio system and control racks.

Design award for M7

Although the concept of the new trains is based on the very successful and highly reliable M6 double deck cars, the interior has been completely redesigned and validated by the customer. Recently the M7 project received the Design Award Henry Van de Velde, the oldest and most prestigious design award in Belgium, and the Gold Public Award.

Compatible with M6

Designer Yellow Window created the new look and feel with attention for the compatibility with the M6 trains:

"The ultimate challenge was to bring an innovative and modern impulse to the train product, but at the same time to design the new interiors to be perfectly compatible with the existing M6 coaches, the current reference of the NMBS. This requirement offers the NMBS both flexibility in train composition, maintenance and spare parts, but above all the potential of a future upgrade of the M6 fleet to M7 with the absolute minimum of modifications."

Televic GSP is especially proud of the screens that integrate perfectly with the modern interior.

New build project in Europe (2016- )

The M7 double deck cars started revenue service in 2020. By the end of 2025 all trains will be in service. According to the NMBS they will operate mainly to and from Brussels.
