Hitachi - EMU Class 385

ScotRail: "Part of our plan to build the best railway Scotland has ever had."

In July 2018 the new fleet of Hitachi class 385 EMUs started passenger service. The modern, high-tech commuter trains will be running on newly electrified lines in the central belt of Scotland. Rail leaders are predicting that the introduction of the trains could have a transformational effect on Scotland's rail network.

ScotRail Chief Operating Officer Angus Thom said: "The introduction of these trains are benefiting customers all across the country, as they allow us to move existing trains on this route out across the network. This is helping us to deliver faster journeys, more seats, and better services for our customers."The new fleet is equipped with Televic GSP's passenger information system and content management software.
