Israel Railways

Highest-possible flexibility in the management of data supply

Televic GSP optimises the PIS data stream across the whole fleet

More residents, more visitors: Israel has seen growing demand for public transport and a more comprehensive train service. The country is similar in size to the state of Hessen, but it is very densely populated, with more than eight million residents. The government is investing in their railway network. Alongside the Viaggio trains from Siemens, double-deck trains from Bombardier Transportation are some of the most modern trains currently in use in the country. Thanks to a new order placed this year, Israel Railways’ Bombardier fleet will grow to over 500 carriages in the next two years.

Tailor-made Solution

Televic GSP has been equipping these vehicle fleets with innovative systems for the past fifteen years. In close cooperation with Israel Railways, the passenger information system data supply via the rail network processing computer (SBR) was adapted to the rail company’s specific requirements.

Everything in sight

The rail network processing computer (SBR) serves as a central data supply station. Using its software, all network data is gathered and processed as required. Staff transfer the data to the Televic GSP computers on board the Bombardier Transportation and Siemens trains, as well as onto the Televic GSP PIS systems in the Vossloh locomotives, which are also used by Israel Railways.

The fleet-wide compatibility of data supply is one of the decisive benefits of the system. Complete rail network data from the SBR are available on every train, and can be activated when the train is in use. This facilitates the highest-possible flexibility in the management of data supply.

Our cooperation with Israel Railways is an example of how Televic GSP uses expertise and system competence to equip rail companies for the future.
