Televic and NannyML Announce Strategic Partnership to Revolutionize Sensor Monitoring Solutions in Rail Industry and Beyond

News date

October 14, 2024 – Izegem, Belgium. Televic Rail and NannyML are excited to announce a partnership to develop advanced AI sensor monitoring solutions in the rail industry. This partnership combines Televic Rail's 40 years of expertise in rail communication technology with NannyML’s cutting-edge AI algorithms, developed through extensive research.

Innovating Railway Communication Technology

Televic Rail, a leader in railway passenger information and communication systems, brings deep expertise to the table, having designed, produced, and maintained reliable solutions for over 65,000 rail vehicles worldwide. This collaboration is focused on Televic Rail’s COSAMIRA solution—a comprehensive condition-based maintenance platform—with NannyML’s AI-driven sensor monitoring capabilities: NannySensorAI.

Combining Expertise for Next-Generation Sensor Monitoring

COSAMIRA already collects and analyzes secure data from trains to optimize maintenance schedules, reduce operational costs, and improve security and fleet reliability. However, monitoring the vast network of sensors in real-time is complex, especially when trains operate at speeds up to 300 km/h and encounter periods of network disconnection. Differentiating between actual sensor malfunctions and real system issues is crucial but challenging.

NannyML’s proprietary AI algorithms, initially developed to monitor machine learning model performance, are uniquely suited to this challenge. NannyML’s expertise will allow for accurate differentiation between faulty sensors and genuine anomalies. By integrating their AI-driven solution with COSAMIRA, train operators can significantly reduce false alarms, improve fleet reliability, and enhance operational efficiency.  In only two weeks, NannySensorAI will understand the behavior of the sensors and finetune the models to detect and alert on anomalies, errors or default sensors.

Addressing a Growing Need for Advanced Monitoring

Research shows that 91% of AI models degrade over time, leading to challenges in maintaining system reliability and models are expected to deteriorate 20% in the first year. By integrating COSAMIRA and NannyML’s AI technology, train operators will be set to proactively and accurately monitor their fleet.

Business Impact

The combined solution offers several key benefits:

  • Reduced unnecessary maintenance costs by up to 30%
  • Improved system uptime with faster identification of true issues
  • Extended lifespan of sensor networks through better performance insights
  • Enhanced decision-making based on more reliable data

During a webinar on October 22nd, Televic Rail and NannyML will extend the collaboration and the technology.
