Eindhoven is the fifth-largest city in the Netherlands, located in the south of the country. The municipality of Eindhoven recently decided to redesign and renew the audiovisual equipment in 5 important meetings room, including the municipal council chamber, the committee room and the citizens’ hall. The project was planned and carried out by AV integrator Heuff B.V. in close collaboration with Televic.
90 brand-new discussion units
The audiovisual refurbishing of all 5 rooms involved the installation of 90 brand-new Televic Confidea FLEX conference units. This is a wired tabletop conference unit with integrated touch screen, speaker, microphone connector and badge reader. Meeting participants are provided with all information via the full-color touchscreen, while the chairperson enjoys ample meeting management and moderation options thanks to an adapted configuration.
Confidea FLEX features a single device that adapts to the customer’s meeting requirements through a high level of scalability. Software licenses can be flexibly added to expand the device’s functionalities. This makes the system very easy to install and configure. The municipality of Eindhoven opted to include the Televic Confidea FLEX L-Vote license, unlocking the electronic voting functionality with voting buttons that can be configured to support 2 to 10 virtual voting options. They also included the Televic FLEX L-Identification license, activating badge identification on the Confidea FLEX units and thus allowing the delegates to identify themselves with an RFID or NFC badge.
Central engine with Dante functionality
The meeting management is done using Televic’s Plixus AE-R compact central engine. The system enables full meeting management options from microphone management over audio routing to recording and camera control. It is complemented by a Plixus NEXT Network Extender, allowing to connect more units to the conferencing network. This is ideal for expansion or redundancy purposes. A plug-in DanteTM Audio Networking Card fits inside the Plixus engine to provide a user-friendly a, cost- and time-effective audio networking solution.
