In 2008, Eurostar announced a mid-life refurbishment of its Class 373 trains. The fleet was designed by the world-famous Italian design studio Pininfarina, which has worked with car manufacturers Ferrari and Maserati. The result is a
contemporary, stylish environment in which passengers can work and relax.
Advanced information system
Eurostar’s refurbished fleet is equipped with a very advanced on-board infotainment system. Televic GSP installed a real-time information system to broadcast real-time travel and destination information, videos, and commercials. The solution includes screens of different sizes, Human Machine interfaces and software for content management and data transfer.
Like a brand new train
The complete re-modelling of the original fleet got a warm welcome. Looking at the first refurbished Eurostar train set rail travel expert Mark Smith of seat61.com tweeted “Internally it’s unrecognisable – most passengers will think it’s a brand new train”
