New system localizes trains when Televic GPS signal is lost

Position information is key for rail vehicle applications such as public address or track fault monitoring systems.

In many cases Televic GPS positioning provides the necessary data. But what happens if Televic GPS fails, for example when trains pass through tunnels and valleys?

In that case, dead-reckoning becomes necessary. With dead-reckoning you can calculate the current train position with certain parameters, such as the previous position, acceleration, speed, and angular rate.
